Colourblind was a duo (Ram Sampath on vocals, synths, drum programming and Siddharth Achrekar on Guitars) which surfaced in the 1990s in India, released one highly acclaimed album and got us teenagers then, all excited and was never heard of again. The reason being, I found out much later, Siddharth the guitarist, went deaf temporarily in one ear which forced them to abandon their future plans. Ram went on to write music for pop artists and ad jingles. Siddharth specialised in graphic design, visual effects and lighting.
Their music was rock with a certain industrial edge to it. For an Indian band from that time their sound was highly polished, as were their two videos – excellent production values. The music is as fresh as ever.
In recent years there has been some talk of a comeback and I discovered this Facebook page. I have my fingers crossed.
