Paolo Pavan

Paolo Pavan is an Italian pianist whom I discovered on Jamendo. He has two albums of Jazz available for free download out there. And that is what I feature today.

The first of the two is called Inside and it is my favourite of the two. It has six mature jazz tracks born out of improvisation, featuring Davide Marinacci on sax, Angelo Olivieri on trumpet, Marco Roccuzzo on the contrabass & Fabrizio Boccardelli on drums. All the tracks are classy and eminently listenable.

Paolo Pavan – Opposites

Paolo Pavan – Urban Slanging

Paolo Pavan – Silent

Paolo Pavan – Through The Night

Paolo Pavan – Blue Night Dance

Paolo Pavan – What’s Up

The second album is Looking for a Way Out. This one’s a good mix of upbeat tunes and melancholic ballads and is a fine example of good Jazz. Though it did fail to create as strong an impression on me as Inside, it is still a very good album and might even be your favourite of the two – to each his own, I say! :)

Paolo Pavan – Looking for a way out

Paolo Pavan – Second

Paolo Pavan – In praise of Honey Rose

Paolo Pavan – Third

Paolo Pavan – Pablito’s Way

Paolo Pavan – Slow change
