
Gary Moore had a huge hit with his 1990 album Still Got the Blues and the title track is still quite popular even after 20 years. But what you probably didn’t know is that oh-so-familiar guitar solo was ‘probably’ lifted from an obscure prog-rock instrumental track from 1974 called Nordrach by a German band called Jud’s Gallery. Moore’s defence was that he had never heard that song when he was recording his album, citing in his defence the obscurity of the band as well as their album.
